Case Study 4 - Design

Practical problem:
Capital design decisions regarding the amount of roof ventilators and/or insulation.
Design for minimum ventilation rates to ensure contaminant removal.

Specifications for simulation:
Fully integrated hourly simulation of building thermal performance, stack and wind effect. (No such easy to use software was found)

Verification:
Temperature verification results.

Results:
For capital investment make an informed decision between the amount of roof ventilators and/or insulation.
Often the Air change rate need to be calculated to see if contaminants will be removed.
