BUILDING MODEL

The model makes use of a six-node electric circuit to simulate the different heat flow paths

A low mass path (single node - lm)

A high mass path (triple node-hm).

The air node (Ti) of the electric circuit is treated as a separate node.

The ventilation, infiltration and environmental control (Rv) are all treated separately.

All the internal masses are combined and treated as a single capacitor, including the floor (Cim).

The heat gains through the floor are treated separately with the steady state resistance Rss.

Convective heat gains (Qc) act directly on the air node.

Radiative heat gains (Qr) are weighed according to surface area and act directly on the surface.
